Mini Mahavyutpatti

This glossary is intended primarily as a study and reference guide for Tibetan oral translators who do not know Sanskrit. It includes only the most common terms--such as names of important people, places and texts--which are somewhat familiar to students of Tibetan Buddhism.

Diacritic marks are included mainly to indicate the correct pronunciation.

Mahāvyutpatti (Tib. bye brag rtogs byed)

The famous glossary of Sanskrit and Tibetan terms compiled during the reign of King Tri Ralpachen in the ninth century CE in order to standardize translations.
